In 1990, a group of fifth graders opened a small, tattered, unassuming black suitcase containing hundreds of hand-written letters.

​

As they opened them and began reading, they began a journey back to World War II where they met TSgt George Elliot Rich and his bride.

​

Over the next four years, these students would relive the past in ways that no one would have ever imagined.

​

Including former President Bill Clinton.
